Clinical director and head of the department of cardiology at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, London. He is trained in all aspects of general cardiology including the assessment of patients presenting with symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizzy spells and blackouts. He is skilled in the treatment of high blood pressure and raised cholesterol. He has a special interest in interventional cardiology including coronary angiography, complex coronary angioplasty / stenting and permanent pacemaker implantation. He is interested in cardiovascular disease prevention and the assessment of patients at risk of developing heart attack and stroke utilising latest diagnostic technology. As Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London he also leads an active clinical research and teaching programme.
